Blinken threatens that the US will retaliate if US troops are attacked in the Middle East

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Washington is ready to retaliate if any US military deployed in the Middle East is attacked due to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He gave this warning on Sunday amid the fear of conflict spreading in the Middle East.

Fighters of the Palestinian independence organization Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7. In response to this, since that day, the Israeli forces have been carrying out indiscriminate airstrikes and shelling of Gaza. More than 4,500 Palestinians have been killed so far.

Blinken said in an interview on NBC's Meet the Press program yesterday that he fears that the conflict (Israel-Palestine) may spread due to Iran's manipulation.

However, the US Secretary of State has threatened that the US President Joe Biden's administration is ready to respond to any attack on US troops in such a situation.

Blinken said the U.S. military presence in the Middle East has been strengthened, including the addition of two additional troop groups capable of conducting combat operations using aircraft carriers.

US Secretary of State Blinken said, 'We are taking the necessary steps to protect our people. We will definitely react if needed.'

Referring to discussions with Israeli officials, Blinken claimed that Israel does not intend to rule the Gaza Strip after the end of the war with Hamas.
